‘Godville’, Omer Fast

‘Godville’ is a two-channel video by Omer Fast, constructed from interviews with eighteenth-century character interpreters in Colonial Williamsburg, a living-history museum in Virginia, U.S.A. The museum actually occupies the grounds of the historical town that it recreates, administering to the preservation of town's buildings and grounds while training and paying its residents to act out colonial American life.

Designed by Manuel Raeder, set in the specially designed typeface ‘Godville’, this book works as an extension to the video, allowing the reader to read between the lines to recover some of the original interview texts from which Omer Fast edited the work, featuring Frances Southall, Jack Burgess and Will.
